So far, meeting the myriad of characters who left normal lives behind to live on the ocean has been a highlight.

All the non-retired folks out here have rejected a life of being rich for various reasons: seeing friends die and realizing the need to live now, rejecting modern society's environmental impact, for self-discovery, because a mother died and funded her daughter's dream.... There are musicians, mechanics, software nerds, bakers and more. In short, an interesting bunch of folks.
